This. This right here is why I’m so behind in drawing comics. That little long-haired, grey-furred, gold-eyed cat will not leave my erasers alone. And my pencils. And my markers, and anything else she can get her grubby little paws on.

Oh Satsuki. You are so lucky you’re pretty.

Satsuki (pronounced Saht-ski) is the youngest of our cats (not counting the fosters) but also happens to be the biggest. She dwarfs her mother Cleo by quite a bit and tends to be the biggest brat too, as can be seen by today’s comic. BUT she’s also always first in line for cuddle time, so I forgive her. She’s our baby. Love you, Satsuki.

Two things.

1) Yes it’s another sketch. But at least it’s something right? Yep.

2) THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENS. Isn’t she nice? Akima is an incredible picky cat. If any of her siblings go in the litter box before her, she refuses to go after them. So it results in her trying to be sneaky and hide her little gifts with whatever she can get her grubby little paws on (and I honestly have no idea how she gets a hold of these things). This ends in both frustration and hilarity. Which is commonly how things end for us. Ah Akima… the things you do.

More fun than a barrel of monkeys, that’s for sure.

Happy Monday! Sorry it’s a little late. I’ve been sick and dealing with a bad back and many chiropractic appointments to try and fix it. So life hasn’t been much fun, but the cats always are. So this one’s for them.

Also… it’s a tad sketchy because of the above complications. I’ll eventually replace it with the colored version. Enjoy the preview of behind-the-scenes sketchery.

Anyone who is owned by a cat that demands to sleep in the same bedroom probably has the same exact story. Don’t you just love 3am wake-up calls?

Zane also likes to walk with his claws out. Fun times.

Here are the oldest three, Zane, Akima, and are always-charming-and-well-behaved Merlin. Yeah, whatever. If he can cause trouble, there is no doubt Merlin will. We affectionately called him our Little $#*1, and we do love him. I just wish he wasn’t such a troublemaker sometimes. But that’s his charm right?

Right?

Ah well. At least Zane and Akima are around to provide some positive influence over him.

Spunky, even though he isn’t the oldest of our kids, is definitely the older brother type. He gets along with all of his siblings – he adores the rats, plays with the ferrets, and often times sleeps with at least one cat and another dog cuddled up to him. They all love their Spunky and he loves them. His personality is probably the best you could ever ask for in a dog. He’s sweet, mild-mannered, and gentle with everything and everyone. He’s currently in the works to be a therapy dog. I think he’ll be perfect.

When Snarf was younger, he liked to chew. A LOT. Sometimes it was empty pill bottles. Sometimes stuffed animals. And sometimes… well, you get the picture.

Thank goodness he has not done this in a long time. We made sure he grew out of this habit FAST.
